Monday – February 17, 2020

Good morning,

It’s a frost free start to the week, so we are looking forward to tee times beginning at 9:00 am on River and Plantation Courses!  The golf courses are trying to dry out…slowly.  Carts will need to remain on paths today as we still are seeing very wet conditions in areas that typically dry out quickly.  Our team will be preparing for play this morning, getting a roll on greens, and continuing our bunker improvement project at the Woods Course.  Have a great day!

Saturday – February 15, 2020

Good morning,

Temperatures dropped to the mid 20’s overnight and we have a chilly day ahead of us. Tee times will begin at 11:00 on each golf course as the greens will need some time to thaw out. Our team will continue with course clean-up tasks as well as topping off the bunkers on 6 Woods with new sand.

The Kingsmill Job Fair begins at 10:00 am today, if you know anyone searching for a summer job or new career path, it’s a great time to look at joining the Kingsmill Family!

Valentine’s Day – February 14, 2020

Happy Valentine’s Day Kingsmill!

We are excited to have a bit of sunshine this morning, the golf courses are frost free and we will begin tee times at 9:00 am on all courses.  We received .3″ of rain yesterday, so we continue to be very wet out there.  The extended forecast looks favorable for some dry days and we hope that holds true – plenty of golf course clean-up remains!

We hope you get a chance to swing the sticks today at Kingsmill!

Thursday – February 13, 2020

Good morning,

We are preparing the golf courses for play this morning despite the rainy forecast.  With a little luck, we can avoid the heavy stuff and enjoy a productive day on the golf courses.  The River Course will reopen today and tee times will begin at 9:00 am on both courses.  Have a great day and stay dry!

Wednesday – February 12, 2020

Good morning Kingsmill,

We are welcoming a little sunshine this morning and excited for a rain-free day!  The courses received 1.3″ of rain yesterday, bringing us up to 4″ of rain since last Thursday.  We are continuing with course clean-up throughout the property today.

There will be some standing water in bunkers today, as we are focusing that labor on other clean-up tasks and raking the bunkers that we can.  It’s very exciting to see the bunkers that have fresh drainage and sand in them as they have performed very well with the recent heavy rains.

Have a wonderful day!
