Good Morning Kingsmill,

Today’s forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms during the morning becoming more widespread this afternoon. High temperature of 87 degrees. Our Team will be preparing the Plantation and Woods Courses for play. The River Course will remain closed today and we have a lot of maintenance planned – taking full advantage of the closure.

Golf Course Maintenance & Landscape

The Agronomy Team has been working extremely hard this Spring as the golf courses continue to green up. When these efforts align with average weather, we see consistent improvement in course conditions. The Agronomy Team’s focus on details and providing great putting surfaces have shown over the last few weeks and we’ve enjoyed the positive feedback. Other areas the team is focusing on include cart paths, Woods Course #11 right-side erosion, and repairing the dam on River Course Hole 15. The overflow structure allows water to leak through the dam, and the pond level is two feet low. Repairs have been made as of Thursday, June 2nd.

Regarding overall landscaping, have you seen the seasonal color / summer flowers at the Resort? Coleus and Lantana were selected to provide great color and not great food for the deer of Kingsmill. The hanging baskets are full of Petunias and safely out of reach of the deer to ensure you get to enjoy them for the full season.
